If your a tournament minded run and gun enthusiast please disregard the following review. For the vast majority of us angler's, who will never see a tournament we need a good fishing boat. The Tracker Pro Team 165 is an excellent choice. The Aluminum hull is bomb proof...I run my boat ashore to ground fish feeder creeks, and abuse it in a number of other ways. Its light so its easy to load and unload or muscle around in the wind. The 25hp motor is adequate to troll without furthur accessory, and fast enough to get across the local 20+mi quickly.....yes 20-30 minutes (33-35mph) is quick. The electronics and trolling motor are basic but functional. I've found that I use my fishfinder to mostly identify bottom composition and while many of the new bells and whistles are missing this is still a very functional boat. The trailer is light and easy to use. The large full capacity and frugal consumption equal multiple trips on a 13 gallon tank. The boat has adequate storage and automatic livewell, bilge, navigation lights etc. The boat is relatively cheap at 10,000...I pay 141 a month payment.
My boat is a 2002. Initially I bought the boat in Fresno, and Immediately grew annoyed with the tracker dealer there. They shipped the boat with a malfunctioning fishfinder and a small list of errors. Since then I've fixed most of the problems myself, but have found the new Bass Proshops dealer more helpful. 7 years have passed and my carpet on the edges is wearing out. Ive replaced a water pump on regular maintence, and a tail light on the trailer, and a battery. not bad maintence wise in my view. It would be nice to have better and larger rod storage...anything over 7' has to be on the floor. The outer rim/edge of the boat isnt very easy to securely attach downriggers or rod holders without drilling holes in the boat. The motorguide trolling motors foot pedal is clunky.
7 years latter I still look longingly at more advanced fishfinders and trolling motors, but can bring myself to fork over the 700-1000 bucks it would take to imrove either item.
