Ugly shoe update
Well I think I will now hold the title of ugliest shoes in the Bass Ackwards Bass Club. After talking with 66KingFisher via PM I decided to go with toe shoes. He shared a lot of information with me that he has found while doing research on the subject and I have to say that what he said made a ton of sense, in fact I think he should make a thread dedicated to this information because I was blown away with the things that are so obvious that I have never thought about when it comes to footwear. Anyways I wore them around the store for about 10 minutes while trying to decide if I wanted them or not and once I decided to go for it I put my adidas shoes back on to head to the register and man they felt like crap. They felt so heavy and akward to walk in it made me eager to get my toe shoes back on, and I never thought I would ever say that. I went with the FILA version for now because they were all I could find to try on and they were on sale for $50. If it turns out where I like them as much as I think I will I will probably buy a pair if the Vibram Five Fingers for next fishing season. I wanted a pair of ugly shoes that are comfortable and believe me when I say I found them lol. Of course they aren't a shoe I will wear everywhere but I will probably wear them more places than I planned because they are really that comfortable.

The Skeletoes by Fila, are not even as lightweight as the Vibrams....lol. They are cheaper and for general wear I hear they're not bad.....having a single pocket for your two smallest toes also seems to make them easier to put on from what I read....They do have a much thicker sole then the Vibrams, so you'll get an even better ground feel once your try those. They are just about the ugliest things on the planet, although I do like the sole pattern and the footprints they leave...hahaha....Make sure to show a picture of the bottom....lol.
I'm glad you found the info I gave you helpful, and I hope you really enjoy your new footwear as much as I think you will....lol....Remember the research the info on transistioning from normal shoes to toe shoes or bare feet......Alot of folks seem to find it helps them even more.....Enjoy them Kory, and get ready to get some weird looks...hahaha.

66KF, If you wouldn't mind sharing some of the info you gave Kory about these in a new thread, I'd be interested. Or even if you want to PM me. While they are pretty dang ugly, I love going barefoot in the summer. I think a pair of these might be good for me to try out.
Kory, if you don't mind me asking, how much were the Fila's? BB

I've got a dozen things going on at the moment, so I don't have time to post anything more tonight, but I will put together some info regarding the health aspects of barefooting as well as info about the new lines of "minimalist or barefoot shoes" that have hit the market recently, and the Vibram Five Finger "toe shoes" have been leading the way. So give me a few days to gather some links and type up a few things, and I'll post some "Food for thought" so to speak. PS....I'm not even going to comment on Kory's gorilla legs...Nope, not gonna do it.

Bubba, They actually do make a line of mens underwear like that.....My wife showed me pics of them before.....So go for it man.....Just do us a favor and don't post pics after trying them on.....Kory's hairly legs were more then we could take, and I'm afraid your pic would send a few folks to the hospital....or at very least to the eye care center....lol
