				 | Weekly report from Capt Mike on the Potomac

Fished Sat and Sunday out of Smallwood on main river points. Many good sized bass fell to Sugar Shad in gold and c-rigged lizards. I even caught two 3-4 lb bass on a popper. Water temp is 67 on the main river and 70 in the back coves. Both trips where done by noon due to proir commitments and a trolling motor failure. Motor is fixed now. Wind is blowing west and it really cuts down on the areas to fish. A large golden buffalo hit a Sugar Shad on Saturday and Sunday ....wierd HUH? both where about 17 lbs +- and almost spooled my customers. Both hooked in the mouth. I will need to post that picture this week. Capt Mike |

Sounds like a nice trip. Do you fish near DC?

In early spring I do spider rigging for crappie around DC and then start my migration to lower parts of the river. I do a lot of shad trips in DC up by Fletchers but it is always short lived. If you need info on the area feel to ask. Capt Mike
