				 | Tournament Checklist

Hi guys.... I have some tournaments comming up. the lake is filled with grass, laydowns, riprap, everything imaginable. and they are going to have about 60 boats a tournament... water temps will be in the 50's to 70's. The water is stained. What baits are esential to have for tournament fishing? What would you recommend for scratching out a limit....also getting a kicker... the fish are going to be around the 10 ft zone or shallower. I need some advice. I am sure some of the tournament vets on here could give me some tips. |

Black/Cinnamon Brown/Green Pumpkin w/ red flakes Senkos. Texas rig these, either weightless, or with a 1/4 oz black bullet weight. Fish these everywhere. Especially in the hydrilla. Slowroll spinnerbaits, along the bottom. I reccomend a Terminator T-1, in 1/2 or 5/8 oz for this. Flip/pitch jigs, and the aforementioned senkos, into the nastiest cover you can find. Use real pork trailers this time of year. Fish the jigs SUPER slowwwwwwww!

Where is this tourney? Those are some huge temp variations 50's-70's? Is this tidal, a reservoir, a swamp? Your profile isn't filled out so I have no idea where you are located. I'm guessing somewhere south since there is still a tourney. But for all I know your in Canada, so I would reccomend a gret big hole saw. LOL If there is cover all over then you gotta find something a little different. Sorry but we'll all just be guessing without more info. And if you want guesses, then how about a c-rig on point, and channels. Look for any current if the body of water has some, such as sharp bends in rivers/tidal waters. A jerkbait or fluke this time of year would be good, but maybe a deep diving crank would be the ticket. Pitching into the heavy stuff is usually a decent choice. Well then again perhaps the drop shot would be the correct presentation. Lizards

Theres no way temps are in the 70's but if they are fish like u do in spring flip jigs etc. into covery/ work spinners and cranks(not if its stained) around it. If the temps are in the 50's go out towards the middle find sandbars/weed lines etc..10-12 feet of water and run spinners / cranks through them / and also try a carolina rig let the weight 2-3 ft ahead !! ! GOOD LUCK |
