				 | MMIB Baits on Anna

Here' what MMIB baits can do for you the next time a high pressure system hits and it's 28-38 degrees and the wind starts a blowin'. Good thing we were on the warm water discharge side of the lake. Water temps were between 58 and 70 degrees.

Mark (on the left) used MMIB's senko type bait. I caught fish on his green pumpkin/red flake trick work on a shakey head.

Always glad to promote good custom baits. I gave out some of those sample packs you sent me and one high school student I gave a pack of trick worms to did well on them fishing a small local pond. He didn't get any photo's or I would have posted them too. Good stuff and more photo's will be coming! |

Got out again today for a few hours. Had two bites and wished I had caught the one I missed to go with this one. Testing out a new crankbait I bought this week. Seems to be working well but I need to spend a little more time with it on the water . Sorry MMIB didn't play a role in catching this bass (4.4lbs). |

First photo's were on the hot side (Nuclear power plant discharge!!!!). I caught mine in pond one and Mark caught all of his in pond two. The bottom picture I caught the fish in Sturgeon Creek in a small cut or cove that was 4-6' deep. The fish hit a Lucky Craft crankbait out in front of a small dock. Over the past couple years I've learned a trick about fishing Anna (the cold side). When a lot of people fish deep in the summer or winter I've learned to go the opposite direction. There are certain creeks and small feeders that hold quality fish all year long in skinny water. Mark weighed in a 19lb bag back in Jan and caught fish in 10" of water. I've caught 5lb+ fish in the same water in August. If the fish are in skinny water they are there for one reason.....to feed! You need to cover a lot of water to find the ones that hold fish. Once you do find them then mark your map. If you still can't get on them then send me a pm and we'll get out. |

Thanks for the tips. I dont know when Ill get to Anna but when I do Im fishin hard. The main problem I have there is the only boat I can fish out of is our pontoon boat and my parents just want to anchor in one spot and sit there all day. I also herd that flipping and pitching soft plastics under docks is a very productive way to catch bass at Anna.

Rider - Check out the OCHS fishing club at http://eteamz.active.com/ocssanglers/ Contact Ms. Gore about fishing on Anna on May 12th. You'll need to join the Jr Federation and you can represent your school. They may be able to pair you up with another student to fish. Having a boat is not required. Registration is $15 per person or $30 per boat. Money goes to awards and prizes. |
