any ideas for a little lake with loads of lilly pads there everywhere water a little stained any ideas also pretty shallow and there is also a dam

i would start with a spinnerbait, buzzbait, or a frog in the pads. covering water pretty quick and watching my locator. once i caught a few i would take a mental note or the details....depth, where in the pads they were located (in the thick stuff, maybe they were more towards the edges or what have ya). once i could form a pattern i would slow down and fish the productive water with my flippin stick and a tube or creature bait.

I have lakes around here like the one you mention. I've had pretty good luck using a jig and pig. I slip in close to the pads that are located near deeper water and make very short pitches into open pockets in the pads and just slowly work it back through the pads. Usually, if your going to get a strike it will be almost imediate, so be ready. The problem with small dish pan lakes and lots of pads is that the bass often are scattered about, so I don't stay in one spot too long, but rather try to cover more ground quickly.

Flip a babybrushhog in the pads. Use a heavy enough weight to penetrate the pads. I would recommend either 17-20 lb test or braid to get those fish out. Frogs on top should be good too.
