				 | Optima Batteries

I'm in the market for a new trolling battery. Does anyone have any experience with the Optima marine? I was just wondering if it was worth the extra cost.

PREDATOR, I have not used the Optima batteries, but I have had a pair of Cabela's "Lightning Pro" in three different boats over the last 6 years and they are still going. As far as I am concerned, the Absorbed Glass Mat batteries are the way to go. They last longer, they charge quicker, and you do not have to constantly check the water as they are totally sealed. The advertising claims that the "spiral Cell" of the Optima batteries are better than other AGM batteries, but I am not convinced. All AGM's are going to be expensive. Just how much it is worth to be "hassle free" is something only you can decide! JackL

DEFINATLY worth the money. You do the math. If ya fish alot as I do you might get 3 years oughta a set of acid bath batteries. Normally costing $75 apiece. I have 2 in my boat so thats $150 dollars plus the hassle of always checking water and making sure the chargers are properly working and hope like hell they dont overcharge and burn the bats up. Now the AGM's normally run twice the life span and NO WORRY bout water. Hmmmmm you do the math. Oh and did I mention they charge faster and last longer on the water.

Absolutely. I put a pair of blue top for a 24V TM in and haven't looked back.
