				 | gettin lil red out..

from deep in the shadows of the barn sits lil red. quiet as a mouse hiding under her cover like a wrath awaiting to spring forth.. with extracted glee and an evil grin i started to un-cover her. i dropped a new battery in to her checked her oil -yep 20.5 quarts- cleaned the air filter. and put air in a tire..then after a moment of forgettin how to properly climb aboard. i get in and gave the key a twist dust expolded across the barn as the twin flow masters produced it's awesome sound. after lettin lil red idle -choke out-for 10 mintues as i put the new tag on her bumper.. as i eased lil red out into the bright november afternoon that she so rarely sees any more i did an 10,000 rpm twin turbo check. check!!! check!! ahhh japanesse engineering.. i spent the better part of the after noon washing, waxing, and cleaning my cherry lil red ride.. ok so lil red is as old as some of the guys on this board. but i got her brand new as a graduation gift..i rarely drive her around and bring her out only on the most enjoyable occasion.. in fact i am takin out a very special some one for a cruise in her..it will be the FIRST girlfriend to ever take a ride in lil red.since moving down to north carolina.-15 years ago- and guys i would sell my bass boat before this car-no joke-. here she is.. zooker

Don't blame ya. I loved those cars back in the day. Rotary engine, plenty of pep and speed, nice handling. Just trying to figure where the can opener goes to get you out.

I've had a corvette, 280z, 280zx and an RX7. The RX7 could out corner any of the others and was fun to drive. I slept in the hatch one time while trout fishing near Malad Idaho I just had to stay over and fish the next day. It was NOT a goodnight sleep!!

What a great looking car! You are giving me some inspiration to work on my old Scirocco. I don't have the great story to go along with it, but it is almost 30 years old. There is a different feeling of "attachment" when driving an older car for me, I am missing it since selling my 87 rocco.
