			No, not the travel channel show; the BF.com version. I know there are probably at least a few of us that consider ourselves foodies (myself included). I'm always game to try new foods, including some pretty weird ones. So what odd foods do you eat or have tried that many others wouldn't even think about eating? I love hearing food stories, so make sure you share 'em! BB

			Scrapple.  Bryce doesn't eat it, and food within arms reach of NFE usually has a short life span. OK, that's the low end. High end, I like snails - escargot. Strange things I have eaten that may be regional favorites, but not common where I live: frog (legs), alligator, snake. Things I'd like to try: Foi Grais, sweetbread, Russian caviar. 			I've been wanting to try the scrapple since you guys talked about it after Wheeler/Wilson. The one I eat on a regular basis, and that gets me a lot of weird looks when I tell people is kibbe neyyeh, a Levantine dish (comes from parts of the middle east) made primarily from raw ground lamb and bulgur (a type of wheat) with spices. Usually served with olive oil and pita bread; it is delicious. One of the weirdest things I've tried is headcheese. Ground up, jellied leftover pig parts sliced up to make sandwiches. It was surprisingly not bad, but probably wouldn't make my top picks for lunch meat this week, lol. BB

			The strangest things I've eatten arn't really all that strange. Squid, octopus, gater and frog legs. Hated the squid and octopus, but I'll eat gater and frog legs any day of the week.

			some of the  things i ate where ground up cow inners(raw) thailand.monkey ,headcheese. scrabble fried mush, tripe,mt oyster never again. squid. dryed. dog meat, water buafflo. pop rice like popcorn. snake, lizard. poi. bear.groundhog things i would not eat monkey brain.liver.snails...

			I love to eat unusual foods. I'll try anything once... or twice. Haven't eaten much weird stuff lately, but I cooked up a beef tongue a few weeks ago. It was really good. |

			sorry....but when i was a child i HAD to eat certain things. "jsut to see what my fore-fathers had to eat" kinda thing. i have had possum, coon, turtle soup, rattlesnake stew and so on and so forth. nothing TOO extreme though. and now that i am older and can CHOOSE what i put on my plate, i WILL NOT eat ANYTHING i deem nasty. hahahaha!! i am boring i guess, i HATE casseroles of ANY kind. only mexican i eat is fajitas, don't like chili (no i don't care WHO made it or what is in it, HATE IT) and eat don't like itialian much. sketti by lisa is good, but eat it rarely. GIMME A STEAK, BAKED TATER, grilled pork chop,chicken,ribs, fired bass,bream,flounder,amberjack,shrimp...well oyu get the idea. i don't eat much seafood either, very limited there too. so call me a whimp or wahtever...but i wanna KNOW what i am eating and where it came from. hahahaha!!

			I can't claim anything too weird, except, volume wise, I eat about 2 pounds of hummus a week.  Its so cheap to make and is good for you.  I ate a lot of Lebanese food in Portland over the summer. My house was right next to a Lebanese restuarant, ate baba ganoush, kafka, and other stuff that I cant remember what its name was.

			I'm a pretty adventurous eater.  I'll try anything once.  I've eaten just about every kind of wild game you can think of, squirrel, rabbit, wild hog, dove, quail, pheasant, elk, moose, bear, rattlesnake, alligator, bull frog and probably some I'm forgetting.  I love, LOVE sushi and sashimi.  I've had tripe, manudo, rocky mountain oysters, caviar, octopus, calamari, all varieties of organ meat...like I said, I'll try anything once.   I can't really think of anything weird I eat on regular basis now though.

			I've eaten the usual suspects- cow tongue, chicken gizzards (a favorite of mine), gator, crawfish (my all time favorite), I've eaten snails, Rocky Mountain Oysters, fried turtle.  Supposedly had camel once (tasted like beef which is why I don't buy it) I was in Kuwait though.  I've eaten at some real hole in the wall joints over sea's and have no clue what was put in front me, but if it tasted good I ate it (places like Thailand, Hong Kong, Brazil, Africa, Bali).   Seen some weird stuff too, grilled scorpions, crickets, rat, smoked dog. Never ate any of those though. |

			I've had escargot, ostrich, gator, pronghorn antelope, moose, elk, mule and whitetail deer, rabbit, squirrel, sage grouse, all manner of duck and goose, oysters, crab (soft-shelled...YUM), lobster...even frogs and rattlesnake.  All good. Never had sushi or sashimi, but I'd try it. I would also like to try truffles, caviar, sea urchin roe, etc. to see what the fuss is about. I pretty much draw the line at head cheese or "souse" as they call it in the delis around here. No thanks.

			Time for a quick joke, then back to foods.... A successful businessman, who is an avid golfer, takes his $100,000 Mercedes to be detailed. While vacuuming, the cleanup guy finds 2 golf tees under the seat. Since his only experience with sports has been football, NASCAR, and the occasional baseball game, he has no idea what they are. So when the businessman comes back to pick up his car, the cleanup guy asks him what the purpose of those little white toothpicks is. The businessman says, "They're to rest my balls on when I'm driving." The cleanup guy's eyes get as big around as dinner plates, and he says in amazement, "Man, them Germans think of everything, don't they?" I haven't eaten anything REALLY strange. I've had gator, escargot, squirrel, rabbit, buffalo, etc. But I'm not really scared of anything....I'll try it once, anyway.

			Pigeon! Ya barn living, corn eating pigeons. Slow cooked is best. Crow was kind of 'icky' though! And both are great bird hunting practice! Beats shooting clays any day. I was brought up with, "If you kill it, you eat it, else DONT kill it!" I've had 'blood sausage' which is flat out nasty! When I was told what I ate...I puked! 			It runs, walks, crawls, slithers, swims, or flys...it dies, and I'll eat it. Whistle pig is a new favorite. By the way, scrapple is pig parts, and cornmeal, mostly cornmeal, try it with some maple syrup, head cheese is, if done right, just that boiled pig head, not any other parts, fat is rendered into the stock, meat removed from skull, added to terrine, I add potatoes, but you can add whatever you want, then that stock is added to the terrine and pressed...mmmmmmm.

			I eat a soup called Czarnena (spelling is probably wrong). We called it chud nena. It's made with duck blood. Haven't had it in a long time though. Had the blood pudding or sausage, can't stomach that. Chicken skin deep fried like potato chips. Pig kidney stew a lot as a kid. Really didn't like the kidneys but liked the gravy.
