I was just wondering, is this a good combo for the price? It seems good to me. Also, if yall have any other recommendations for around this price range or maybe cheaper please share.

I would get the Shimano Curado combo with the BPS Extreme rod for $20.00 more http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse , Or the BPS Extreme combo for $50.00 less http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse

The Extremes? If so you are getting some quality gear. I own 2 BPS Extreme combos, and love them. I wasn't trying to sound rude in my question, I was just curious.

I'd go with either, I own both brands of various reels, the quantums are a little cheaper and do just fine for me, but I have no qualms with the Shimano either. I perfer bionic blade BPS rods tho...just a personal preference from experience...I have noticed that all the anglers on this forum use high quality rods for the most part, wouldn't be skeered to buy any of them.

The next rod I'll probably try is the Fenwick that zooker is braggin on, I really hadn't even paid attention to that brand before joining the forum, but now will have to investigate a 6-6 MH in the spring(like I need another rod rofl) |

I have the curado 201bsf reel with the shimano clarus 6'6 MH rod. Pretty nice set up, i think, and i paid about $170 or so for it...Not bad, would recommend it to anyone.. Beware of the SF though, hella backlash, or maybe its becuz i'm a beginner...hahaha...

fenwick come in gt,hmg, hmx, techna av,and golden wing. gt are ok for a tad less feel -crankbaits- run about $50.hmg and hmx are so close they are very diffacult to tell the differance. run about $60-$70. techna av very fast tip. great worm stick-go up one power size-$140 golden wing -well it only took a act of congress to even get it let alone buy it. $250 ordered 6 months- at least- in advance. took 9 months for mine. and i broke it 4th time out.:'( but the stick was a mh 7 footer that weighed less than a 5.6 foot ul rod. like casting a feather.. personally an hmx or a techna av would be the ticket. techna av will have more eyes.. zooker
