target bigger fish

I fish without electronics and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for finding more underwater structure where the big fish might be. I fish the everglades quite often and is mostly canal systems with lilys lining the edges. Any help would be great.

i dont use electronics either,not old enough to own a boat...anyways just try your favorite baits around stickups and that kind of stuff

bigger baits=bigger fish but fewer bites. I've actually heard the fish grow smaller in the canal systems down there because it stays warm almost year around causing the little dinks to remain agressive year round creating more competition for the bigger fish making it harder for them to grow past a certain size. don't know how much merit there is to that, but the article and explanation made sense at the time. of course with that said, the canal systems in south florida do have the best catch rates in the state. of the top 10 lakes/rivers to fish, most were around 2 bass per hour. the canal system is OVER 4 per hour.
