Rocket Shad....again!

Yeah went to a small lake by my house and threw a rocket shad around the flat and got skunked ...thought the fish would be up a little with the cloud cover....then moved out to the deepest point and threw the sucker out about 70 yards and let it hit bottom...counted 14 seconds....then slowly reeled it in and sometimes violently ripped the bait off the bottom and caught 4 bass one of them went 3 and a half....using a spinning rod with 6lb line to get it down deeper.....they crushed it....then I hooked one and he hung me up and then came undone and jumped and snapped my line...lol. well there goes my bait..lol. Guess the 6lb line both helped and hurt me today!

What colors do you use, and are you fishing from the shore?

yeah...this is from the shore! I use the chartruese with purple back and I added a feather treble instead of the stock skirt....

Ok, thanks, thats some of the best results I've heard of fishing from shore this time of year........

i always fish from shore and i fish small ponds usually not more than 2 acres, so i can access the whole pond and there are big fish in em ive seen em, pushin 5 lbs. and i always catch fish(not nessecarily nice fish but there still fish), exept when i go to bigger lakes i usually dont catch much of anything.

Yeah, I caught a 5+ lber at a 1 acre pond when I was 8, then a 3.5 lber a week later at the same place. But the only time I've ever caught fish on a lake, was a 50 acre lake, right near a river, so people forgot about the lake, and only fished the river for trout.

I've never had much luck on public lakes, though I do know a 6 yr old that caught a 9 lber, at a park. The lakes in my opinion, are way overfished, especially park lakes.

Bassking I use to think the same thing, however I just recently went camping with the family at a state park here in northern indiana and have gone for the past two weekends and it was great fishing. The first week I used a scum frog and caught 11 or twelve, and they were all over 15 inches, the biggest one was just under six pounds. So I went back with my brother this last weekend and we caught 10. They were all small but it was still fun. I would have been able to post some pics but my brother decided to be funny and well me and my tackle box were swimming, my camera was in there.

I am going back this weekend again. I will get some new pics.

State parks are good, but like local parks, where all the little three year olds gow ith their parents to feed the ducks suck. I caught like 10 bass over 3lbs in 2 hours at a state park.
Gotta love the topwater bite, scum frogs are great.

all the places i ifsh are either state or county parks. dont know anybody with a private lake

but a boat would aid in my fishing conquests!!

This private pond was at a cabin, my sisters boyfriend was renting, and then they broke up, and he moved, so now I can't fish there. I would also like to own a craft of water conveyance.
