Default Re-string

Gentleman, when you re-string your reel, do you have the string come off the bottom or top of the spool?

NOTE: I use a BPS gadget which holds the spool of line horizontally. While re-stringing, I would always attach the suction cup to the same place in my house (on the fridge in my garage). I recently moved, my furniture has been moved around, and I cannot remember whether the line would come off the bottom or top of the spool.

I personally use the top. I dont know if it makes too much of a difference though.

Sorry, I can't mentally picture where you're going with this one. I use a friend and a screwdriver.

every spool I 've ever read said to leave the spool LABEL up and peel the line off that way, however, since I can't read, I always put a couple of heavy books on a table, put a pencil under the book, then put the spool on , label facing the table, and line comming off the top... I think it probably is more important on spinning gear than baitcasters.

JB, the thingamabobber that I use is the XPS Aluminum Linewinder from BPS (I would attach a picture but I still haven't figured that out), if you look on the site it is the line winder that retails for $9.99. Anyway, from your post, it appears that you hold the spool with a pencil vertically so the spool is lying flat (like a cup standing up straight) instead of horizontally (like a cup laying on its side). Is this how you do your re-string?
