i was asked on another site excatly how often and how much do i change baits and why.. i kept track of them baits i used today. in no order at all. norman baby n-caught a fish baby chug bug 4" finesse worm 4" dead ringer-caught a fish 6" trick worm 8" ribbon magII 10" ol monster 6" lizard-caught a fish dt 6-caught a fish dt 7 dt 10 deep lil n deep baby n fat boy 1/4oz diamond shad 3/8oz jig-caught a fish. stien- caught a fish 5" dinger horny toad in only 5 hours. i was hunting as i have not been on that lake in over a month. as to why i changed i dont know at times i swear it was by gut feelin alone.. or it could have been fishing a type bank that needed a differant diving crank bait.. tomarrow will be dfferant for sure.. zooker

I usually tie on 7 dif lures before I hit the water and try them all, usually powerfishing and then settle down to the flipping game, however I seem to change crankbaits more than plastics...I would say the most technique I change if ones not working is the topwater, I'll go from buzzbait to popR, to spook and others depending on the mood of the fish..on spinnerbaits, all I have to do is read the water and I know what to use, if all else fails I'll go with a worm.. I noticed last year the senko and tiki sticks produced for me all year, and this year I haven't even gone through a dozen packs yet...this spring I used the waveworm (tiki) lizard, and had great success...all winter long they sold them at walmart for a buck a pack, so I wiped them out of stock about every month rofl |

19 times in 5 hours? thats almost 4 per hour.......once every 15 minutes. Course on a bass boat you're able to cover more water. I'd say on a typical 5 hour trip for me would be anywhere from 2-8 lures, just depends how good the bite is. Although keep in mind, I'm in a small jon boat with only a paddle (can't cover much water), therefore have to fish my areas a little more thorough. I'm about to go camping (and just got stung by 2 wasps). Will be on the water this evening, most of the night, and some of the morning. I'll TRY to keep track of my changes.

I change alot too, I have one of all my basic baits on each rod, and whichever one works, I experiment with size and color, untill I find exactly what the fish want. Whats a Stein? |

You might as well ask a fish what a Stein is. You will come closer to getting the answer out of that fish than Zooker. He will however tell you that it is a lure, but that is all you will get out of him.

the stien is a creation of zookers. he took the whiz bang, helicopter lure, and kicktail lure and combined pieces of all 3 to form the greatest lure bass have ever seen. heck even I've been known to bite on a stien.

Hey Zook, if Lizards already know what the stein looks like, why not send the stein to the 2nd biggest bass weighed in?

Ahhh...blast it.... I may have to go over to Wilson and pick up a smallie or two then.... BTW, I would like to see all the weights tallied up with information like the lure used, lake, ect. It would be an interesting list.

I'm fishing one of our best lakes here in California, next weekend. I be sure and bring the camera and a tailors tape. I'd love to win that Stein. Can I get an amen.
