Had a friend invite me to go fish a private lake yesterday afternoon. The conditions were optimal for topwater fishing so I tried several different things: Tried a Pop-R first working it pretty slowly. Got 1 little dink off of this after fishing it about 30 minutes and figures I would try something else. Digging through the box I found a Chartreuse and White buzz bait, It has prolly been about 4-5 years since I threw a buzzbait. WOW! I was getting a bite almost everycast, but being that it has been so long since I fished a buzzbait I missed a lot of hook sets. I caught about 20 fish in about a 2 hour period and had one of the best fishing action in quite a while! |

Thats what its all about, I need to try aBuzzbait ,I love the topwater bite.but never used them ,thats my next trick. This site has opened my options& sparked my interest. Leroy How fast Do you rip it threw the water or just fast enough to keep it on top?

Learn to rig one properly, check it's alignment between casts, and hook-up ratio will improve...with bass, that is. With women? Well, you're on your own there, bucko! FR | |

LMAO at FlyRod. I fish my buzzbaits just fast enough to stay above water right now. Once it gets warmer around here, I will try fishing it faster.

All my hits was just pulling it through the water just enough to keep it bubbling ontop. Biggest I caught was about 3 1/2 lbs, I had one on the line that was actually pulling my drag out a good bit. He never surfaced and when I got him closer to the shore he wrapped around a submerged stump and my bait came out. I really think he would have been my record bass, there has been several 12-13lbers pulled out of that particular lake. On the trailer hook thing, do I still need to use one if I am not using a trailer? |

on the trailer hook question.....it is not called a trailer hook because you put a trailer on it, it trails the primary hook, so to answer your question yes you can use it without a trailer.....
