So one of my friends wanted me to take him fishing this weekend, but my truck is in the shop. So he said he had a 2" ball on his truck and he could pull it. So we drove about 45 Minutes to Lay Lake and get the boat in the water no problems. We go to crank the motor and it sputters a bit and dies out. Then we fiddle fart around the marina for a while and finally give up and just drop the trolling motor and start fishing. Get around to the end of the pocket and I decide I'll try the motor again. So Im fiddling with it and the Marine police pull up. He was nice enough to help us out a bit and suggest a few things. Then he wanted to check our licenses and lifejackets etc. I told him we'll just troll around and we'll be alright. Don't get so much as a bite all afternoon, so we head back in a bit early because we're having a bad day, had to get in the water and guide the boat on the trailer and winch it up. Pull it out of the water and start unloading it and cleaning it up and what do we hear? THE ICECREAM MAN! So I thought to myself, "Finally something good happens!" So me and my buddy are jumping up and waving at the Icecream Man as he goes by the marina. He waves at us and keeps on kicking... So we went to Dairyqueen. Get home and it's dark so we park the boat behind my Mom's house and I hooked up the Motor Flusher to the motor to see if I can get it working or figure out whats wrong. So we are pittling with the motor and all of a sudden me and my friend are yelping in pain, apparently we parked the boat on a yellow jackets nest and they are not happy. So we jump in the truck and move the boat. I decide I will wait until Sunday and work on the boat then. So we go to unload the trailer from the truck and there is a huge dent and a small crease in the back of my friends pristine Toyota Tacoma where apparently he took a turn to sharp or something. (I think it happened in the Dairy Queen Drive Thru, so it is the Ice cream man's fault) So after much cursing, wailing, and gnashing of teeth we went our seperate ways and went home. I get home and my foot is swole up really bad from being stung onmy toes of all places. What a no good, horrible, very bad day... |

Fixed the motor and went out this weekend. A screw had rattled lose and a rod slipped on the throttle mechanism. Got it all worked out and ran like a dream yesterday.

I like to refer to it as Karma. God / bad or ugly it is just Karma.. Karma likes to put you on emotional roller coaster at times. It is a life ride for sure. But life would be so dull with out the rollercoasters in it.. Capt Mike

lol! My Dad was a youth pastor and he always said, " Life is like a rollercoaster. I'll have times when I am on top of the world screaming for joy, then there will be times when I am at rock bottom just trying to hang on, but when it comes to the end I can say, 'What a Ride!'"

Jeebus! Leroy, Are you in any way related to BigBassin143.9? You two have something in common. Sorry 'bout your misfortune and you're right; It WAS the ice cream guy's fault. If I were you I'd go find Ben and Jerry and kick the daylights outta their gnarly, snarly, butts. FR |
