I threw one last weekend at the fishing show. It definitely has some great innovations like the end cap of the spool coming off to remove your line. I don't know about the round handle though. If I had some extra cash sitting around I would have picked one up. There is a smaller one coming out in May.

It was the last of my mad money. I was short a bunch of pesos for a push pole so I settled on this innovation. It's first test will be LTJ for 40 inch convict bass and if it survives that then it should hold up ok for top water LGMouth. Got some 30lb PP in green to throw on it. Capt Mike

How WaveSpin™ Eliminates Tangles During the retrieve, on traditional spinning reels loops are inevitably formed when small increments of slack line are reeled onto the spool. With a standard smooth spool these loops often crawl together forming a hair pin or even a twisted loop that overhangs the spool lip (fig. 1). During the cast, a high-speed, high-energy line is pulled tight against the spool lip, engages the loop and snatches it and all the line spooled on top of this loop off in the form of a "birdnest." With WaveSpin, as a loop forms across the face of the spool, it is forced to exit and re-enter the spool through the paths of least resistance as a single, tight loop at the base of the waves (fig. 2). In the cast, as the line skims harmlessly over the peaks of the waves, it never contacts the loops hidden safely down between the waves. Loops leave the spool unnoticed in the normal sequence of the cast and tangles are completely eliminated. http://www.wavecast-reel.com/index.html Capt Mike

Yea that Cuban cigar smoker had me jonesing for a good cigar the minute I saw him. We would have limited out once the weather stabilized.. in fact we did on a C&R level.. But they only fishied 4.5 hours. Should have worn more than a jean jacket. Capt Mike

Very unlike the Mike I know to buy something like that. p.s. The show went fine. Most impressive was the location. It was held in the indoor track and field building. Full size indoor track and field facility. Gymnastics room the size of a small banquet hall. Indoor pool. I could go on. My dad asked what kind of college it was. He was shocked that it was a high school. Absolutely phenomenal facility. Pushed the evening top water on fly tackle but, got a lot of questions about your cat trips. Big fish peak a lot of interest. |

Thanks veru much Dave. You know I am a flea market fisherman but when you got some mad money it burns in the pocket. Private schools in Bethesda cost about 15k+ a year for the students. Plus the money the state throws in for college credit coarses in high school. Pick a day or two Dave and it is yours. Capt Mike
