You can never have too many of your favorite plastics. Mine are the white ice super flukes, the pearl white super flukes, cotton candy 6" lizards, and several different colors of brush hogs. If you are like me and don't sharpen your old hooks, buy more hooks (3/0, 4/0, and 5/0). |

Rage Tail Shad, Stevo. Might as well throw them while they're still new to the fish.

I haven't tried the rage tail shad, but the toad is awesome. I don't fish frogs that much, but it sure does make a racket.

Jim, booyah has got the new pigskin and A-jigs out. I was gonna get a couple, but I don't fish them that often during the summer. I have more confidence in a t-rigged plastic than jigs.

After giving you my comments yesterday, I was attacked by the bait monkey. I went today and purchased -

3 bags of super flukes (2 white ice and 1 baby bass) small 5 compartment plano box for hooks white with green super soft floating scum frog 5 bags of Gamakatsu hooks (3/0, 4/0, 5/0 offset shank worm RB and EWG) I almost bought another rod. My 6' spinning rod is about 10 years old and has some guide protectors missing. It is only a matter of time until those guides cut into my line and I lose a big one. |

How to do you rig this bait? ![]() BPS says to "rig weightless on a 4/0 or 6/0 wide gap hook, with the tail up". Do you just push the hook through the nose like you would a live minnow? |

Most of the marketing photos show the tail turned vertically for presentation purposes. The shad will actually be used flat with the tail sticking up and curled toward you if you're looking at its nose. The large ewg hook seems to act as a keel to keep the bait from spinning on the retrieve.

Steps to hook -1. Separate the tail from the body 2. Hold it flat, like a flounder, with the tail curled up 3. Texas rig through nose on the flat side. The Shad is a topwater bait that's been successful when used in place of a buzzbait. It looks weird when it's rigged correctly but it makes a lot of noise and commotion on top of the water. |

Thanks. I was thinking about getting some but the price is a little steep. $5 for 5 is pretty steep for plastics.

After reading the reviews, it seems that some are having trouble rigging it correctly, thereby causing the lure to spin. I have noticed that if I Trig my flukes at an angle instead of straight, it will spin. I guess the same goes for this one. |

Sometimes, you should purposely make it spin. I've found this is what the fish want after trying everything else.
