Snag, I'm sure the fishing is better than El Paso, but I've never fished up there. That offer still stands if you want to come down here and fish before you go!

Re: washington state bass fishing??
OK, don't shoot me, I know this is an old post but I'm board and stuck in a place where there's no fishing!
Snag, Washington has some great fishing. Lake Washington is supposed to be very good for both LM and SM (I've never fished it since I'm on the east side of the state). Also, Silver lake to the south of Ft. Lewis regularly reports fish in the 7-8 pd range (thats a toad up here, hell a 5-6 pd'er is a toad up here). I'm sure there's more in your area but thats all I know off for sure. Now if you want to drive a little ways the cetral part of the state has Banks, Potholes reservoir and Moses lake. On the east side there's Long lake, Clear lake (small lake but puts out a ton of 3-6 pd fish regulary) and newman lake. Again there's more but that's just a few to let you know about. I really just started about 3 years ago but I love the fishing up here. You won't catch many fish over the 8 pd range but you can catch a lot of quality fish in tthe 3-6 pd range. Skeeter |

Just a tip: Don't forget to actually try those trout and salmon as well. I'm sure you'll find they can be just as fun.

I spent some time in Tacoma but I was 15 and didn't really fish then. But If i was there now I would head straight through Seattle and there is the Pacific Ocean.
The first thing I would check out are the Mermaids. Oh, and due try the Prawn and Sushi. Some of the best. |

AS fior Mermaids, I think there's one of those stripbars in every big town. ;D ;D ;D Snag: You will truly enjoy your time at Ft. Lewis and the area. You have to drive a little ways to get to a lot of places but it's worth it. As for having to drive the I-5 to seattle, I feel for you. It's a wonder that there isn't at least 1-2 road rage deaths a day on that piece of interstate. Anyways, don't let the stereotype of the NW and Bass fishin fool you. We have some quality lakes and quality fish up here. Enjoy! Skeeter |
