went fishing and zeroed! I asked for suggestions and used them but still zeroed.I was fishing a pond with a creek entry and a creek arm but things went wrong when my baitcaster backlashed so deep and so bad that I had to stop using it.Wind seemed to be 30mph and was constantly changing direction.I'd zero in on a spot then the wind would change right as I got there.I even stooped to live nightcrawlers and still didn't catch any bass!!(or panfish).so I had a pretty bad day but I'll do better next time.

PS:how do you throw a weightless senko and not backlash.and if not backlash,cast it far???????

Did you try a bobber and a worm? It might work this time of year

As for throwing a senko weightless, it's pretty easy, use a spinning rod! No, you can use a BC but I've only had luck with a Yamamoto senko - they are a little heavier then others.

Should be able to cast it fine. I saw that the wind was 30mph which is bad when throwing anything close to being light with a baitcaster. Either keep practicing until you get it right or switch to a spinning reel for those.

I can throw just about anything with a baitcaster that weighs over 1/6oz, you just need to keep the tension knob set correctly and the brakes set lower than usual. Yes, lower than usual means spools spinning faster which means backlash in the wind but with a good thumb you can cast just about anything down to 1/6oz with a baitcaster.

I frequently cast weightless Senko's with my BPS Extreme reels and have cast it with my Rhino RBC300 as well. One is a $79 reel and the other is a $40 one.

You should be able to cast a Senko a mile with a baitcaster. You probably need to adjust your brakes, sounds like they might be set way too loose if you are backlashing that bad. Like Charlie said, you can cast really light weight stuff with a bait caster and Senko's really aren't light at all. Keep practicing and playing with your brakes, maybe on a calmer day, I'm sure you will get the hang of it. Casting a baitcaster in 30 mph winds isn't fun, no matter how your brakes are set. That could be part of the problem too.

As far as striking out today, it happens. I'm sure the water in Ohio is still pretty cold, give it a little more time for things to warm up and I'm sure you will be slaying em before you know it.

Like the rest of the guys said, it's all in braking, tension knob, and the trusty old thumb. When we get a chance to go fishing sometime, ill show ya how to use it properly...

I don't know where you got 30 mph winds at??? We had no more than 10 today.

Winter is always tough for me... but I prevent backlashes by using spinning reels.

I hate to break it to you, but I guarantee that you will get skinked again at some point.
As far as casting the weightless, it is all in your settings.
