We're half way thru the holiday weekend and it has not been a good one on the water here. A man went overboard on Lake Michigan yesterday and the coast guard is now doing a "recovery" operation. Then last night about a mile from my house some idiot was driving at a high rate of speed on the river with no lights and hit an outcropping of rocks. The driver didn't make it and four passengers were thrown out of the boat....two adults who are in critical condition and two kids who are in good condition. Such stupidity and such a waste! Please everyone be careful out there!!! |

tim you couldn't be more corect buddy. went out this morning for a bit. headed home jsut as the lake lice wuz hitting the water. watched quite a few idiots unloading as we were leaving. most, not all, but most of the younguns think they are bullet proof and water proof. i really wish jet skies were banned and never allowed to have been made. kids and i mean those that ACT like em too aren't smart enough to use them safely. watched a fella, probably bout 20 yrs old or so, unload and start doing donuts RIGHT at the launching ramp. other folks were unloading and the wake he was stirring caused them to unload awkwardly and could've made a pontoon boat sink. he got hung on his trailer and could have punched a hole in one of the pontoons. sad to see things like this on the water.
