Holy.... I sent my new legend spinning rod back to the factory because the guides weren't aligned correctly. They were nice about it, and sent me a new one, no charge. Sitting on the couch, I just rigged it up for drop shot, tightened up the slack to put it away, and the tip snapped below the second guide. FFS!!! I am not having much luck with this model rod. I guess it's time to contact them again.....sigh.

I don't know what FFS is, but I can imagine. Some things just aren't meant to be. At least you have a few more months to go thru a few more of them. I take it there was no damage to the packing? I think I just figured it out. hahahaha

Wow, that really has to suck... I have never broken a rod yet.... (knocking on wood!) Maybe you should just get a refund, and get an Ugly Stick... they are America's strongest, most sensitive rod you know... Ryan

They just had SCV blanks 50% off too at Mudhole. Could have got Pancake to build you a double header.

I've had that happen to 3 rods I own. Just putting line on them and then pulling the line to look at the rod bend and then SNAP! I did get all 3 rods replaced for free so that makes for a happy ending I guess.

Are you talking about a St Croix Legend rod? If so I'm very suprised. I'd be very FFS!!! Even if they do take care of the problem, I'd be upset there was a problem like that to begin with. That's not a cheep rod!

Bryce, being the good friend that I am, I'll take care of your problem for you. Have them send the next one to me and you won't have to deal with it. It's that simple, and you're welcome. BB

They're probably getting tired of hearing from me. I'm sure they find me returning the same rod twice in 2 weeks a bit sketchy. Oh well, better it break now than when I've got a 5 lb bass on it.

				 | Now now, it has been known to happen. Even though I can count all of my 5+ lb bass on one hand, it can still happen haha.

nofear, I know this may not make you feel better but a couple a years back I did almost the exact same thing. St.Croix sent me a new one no cost (great, great customer service). New one came and bad real seat. Sent it back and 3 days later got new one. To this day it is still one of favorite rods and it has held up to some really harsh treatment. I have never had a problem with it and it really is a nice rod. I have gotten at least another half dozen other Croix rods since and many before that and never had a challenge with any of them. Good fishing! |

They're sending me another shipping label, and it sounds like I will get a (another) replacement with no charge. I can not fault their customer service at all. They are always very nice to deal with.

That's always a plus! Don't close any doors or stick the tip in the fan on this next one.

When you spend that much on a rod, you should expect better quality control, and NOT have to go through a minimum of THREE to get one that is right. Free shipping & free replacement or not - it's the time involved. Good thing it's not in the middle of fishing season or you're getting ready for the trip you planned all year for. St. Croix has a good reputation - but it won't continue if others start experiencing similiar problems. And FFS isn't so bad, I used to do that at every opportunity, when I was younger of course. FFS = F****** Friend's Sister. |

I hope your parrot nips the tip off your rod the next time you let her sit on it. And I don't, necessarily mean the St. Croix. |
