Because while both gas and diesel come from the same source, diesel can be "cracked" during refinement to produce gasoline. So if they want the price of gasoline to come down (can you say political manipulation?), the refineries produce more gasoline, at the cost of producing less diesel.

In other words, the Roman Emperor delivers bread and circus, and the happy, ignorant populace cheers him on. Ironically, in a few weeks the price of all their goods will go up because the price of shipping has gone up due to the diesel shortage. At that point, they will express outrage over retailer price gouging, oblivious to the "shell game" going on.

Was at deer camp last 5 days - found regular gas at $3.13, pretty cheap for PA. But kerosene (heater) was $4.87 - OUCH!!

hey bruce......that's cheaper than here man. kerosene is jsut over $5.00 a gallon here. send me some ok? put it on me tab. lol. gas is holding steady at $3.14 here.

Gas prices are all over the place here. $3.10 one day, $3.29 the next, back to $3.19... So ridiculous.

We're still holding steady at $2.95 on the low end here. I've seen it as high as $3.23 but never lower than $2.95.

We are back down to $3.09 up here, but it was $3.29 just a couple days ago....
