Hey, got a question, what are they talking about when I hear someone say they tie a double palmor knot? Oh thanks for the chart but I think I can buy one for myself! You know better than getting me started! I really do want to know about this 'double palomar'.

http://www.totalfisherman.com/blog/3...-palomar-knot/ looks like just doubling the overhand part...popular with braid?

I got the palomar committed to memory, even for FREE I don't want it. Wait, I could do that for Doc, he can't remember what day it is - what a nice guy I am, huh? A little tape, and tape it to his forehead so he'll know where it is, a mirror to hang around his neck, then I could LMFAO watching him tie it backwards all day long.

So does the second overhand knot really make this knot stronger?

I only use it with lures that I know I'm going to put a ton of stress on, mainly frogs thrown waaay back into pad fields or grass. I think it's supposed to make doubly sure it doesn't slip. That being said, I've never had any trouble with the regular Palomar slipping any, so I can't say for sure if it helps or not.

I've been using the regular Palomar for over 30 years, with no problems. Teach yourself to tie it without looking, and you'll be surprised how easy it is to tie during normal situations.

Ya, I use the classic palomar, not exclusively, but alot. Believe it or knot ,I use a 'Double' San Diego Jam Knot on my FloroHybrids because the Lake Fork guys said too . But until you tie it like a thousand times, it's not an easy knot.IMO And yes I use others (you know by now, 'gotta complicate everything') but these two are my go toos.

i so the songle, and the double. great knot. i even use it with mono sometimes. doubleing it makes sure it doesn't slip like mb said. now sometimes i'll slip it throught the hook eye twice. that helps too.
