In the swamps I fish this lure is useless but on a big lake I can see it to be deadly. I wonder if the big stripers on the bay would eat these up also.. Also did you see that the pros added two more trebles to them? Interestng.. Capt Mike

I also understand that using this big spoon can cause health issues like tennis elbow and pulled muscles in the neck and shoulder. Sorta like my first time speed jigging. I was sore for 4 months after two days of that. Since then I have learned to do the jigging closer to the body and use your mid-section to set the hook. Less fatigue and general soreness that way. Dave and I will be at Guntersville in the fall and I want to A-rig and Ledge fish with big spoons. Then I want an ice cold martini to take the pain away. Calgon moment. Capt Mike

Capt. Mike, Take a big spoon like that, replace the trebles hooks with frog hooks. Then cut twirl tailed worms down to just the right length to fit the hooks and put them on there. Big spoon with three twirl tails on it for extra movement, bass go mmmmmmm. I already do this with regular sized spoons. It works better than a bullet weight getting through weed mats. |
