Default photo help

I found it to be difficult to try to measure and photo the fish while trying to get everything set for the photo needed.I was trying to hurry to get the fish back in the water, I don't like to leave them out for very long. I had everything set, then the fish flopped, I have a difficult time judging how close to be to get everything in , but close enough to get a good picture. Any help would be appreciated. P N J
