Default 3/31/07 Joey's Lake

Well, I went to the same lake that I went to last sunday where I caught that big bass. I didn't get any bites, but I spotted two midsized bass from shore. I didn't catch them.

There was a strong wind and some rain. COLD.
I couldn't catch any, so I decided to try something new. The wind blew a bunch of matted grass to only one spot on the pond. I casted my worm onto it. I was slowly reeling across. I anticipated a bass biting the worm right after it fell into the water. Right before it reached the end of the matted grass. BAM! My first topwater bass. A 18"x14" 3lb9oz bass! My first topwater bass on a weighted worm! I also came back to that spot later and had a fish that had to be 6lbs on my line. It was pulling drag like CRAZY! I also had another on, but he came off.

Question : When do bass usually hide under the thick matted grass?
