Went over my dad's yesterday afternoon for dinner and took my crank'n stick to make a few casts in his pond before we ate. The ice is finally melted off with the warm weather we've had the last few days. My brother was there before me and he caught a small bass on a Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw. I threw a LC RC 2.5 and on my 3rd cast I thought I was hanging into a stump until it moved.
I set the hook and had him for a couple seconds and it came off. Dang it!!! I saw the fish swirl on top and it was a minimum of 3lbs but probably more like 5lbs. That would have been my first fish of the new year but guess I'm still rusty from the off season. At least I had a good fish bite! We may go to another pond today after work since it's going to be 75 degrees today. This place has some HAWGS in it. Hope to have some good pics to post later!!!
