I think the worst I've had was when my crankbait caught on the tacklebag behind me on the cast...there went a new spool of mono...

The worst i've ever seen in person was when a friend of mine and I went to a local reservoir. we each had one rod, and only the baits we could carry in a pocket. Fourth cast, something went wrong and he smacked one of chuncks of concrete around the edge eith his crankbait. Beeing his only rod and fourth cast, we sat down and proceded to pick this backlash out. it took him nearly an hour, and he had about half the line off his reel.
