This past weekend was by far my best bass fishing weekend ever in terms of number of bass caught. I didn't catch any really big ones -- a 3 pounder was the biggest -- but I caught a whole bunch between 2 and 3 pounds. I've been fishing on this lake for 10+ years and have never caught more than 7 bass in an outing before. This weekend I had one outing with 24 (!) and another with 11. Last year, which was my best bass year ever, I had caught 25 total by the end of May. This year I'm at 55 total and this year with less fishing time in because opener was a week later this year. Here's what I have to show for the weekend...
Early Saturday morning fishing (solo) on bass opener -- first time ever using the Yum Money Hound (3.5" in Black Lab color) and caught this 1lb 12oz, 14.25" LM with it; caught a couple more using it this weekend and have a good feeling about it for the upcoming season! ![]() Sunday morning - 1lb 13oz, 14" Smallie caught using a 5" Yamasenko wacky-rigged (Purple pearl with blue flakes) ![]() Sunday morning - 3lb 0oz, 17" LM and 2lb 7oz, 15.5" LM caught on a 7" Yamasenko wacky-rigged (Watermelon with black/red flakes) and same 5" senko as above ![]() Monday morning - 2lb 10oz, 16.25" LM and 2lb 3oz, 15" Smallie both caught with a 5" Yamasenko wacky-rigged (Watermelon with green/red flakes) ![]() |
