Default They are chewing at Gaston!!

Went down and met a few guys this weekend at Lake Gaston on the NC/VA border. We had alittle bragging rights TX. I didn't take my boat, I was the only one, so I went back seat.... And kicked thier butts!!! LOL My limit went a respectful 13.07lbs. Alot of fish were caught but not alot over the 14" limit. You are allow 2 fish over 12" with 3 over 14". All mine were over 14". There is a top water bite early in the morning but as soon as the sun gets up over the trees it's gone. Then hit docks with at least 10 feet of water at the front edge, and grass under them. Skip wacky rigged SENKO as far back as you can and hold on!!! Trick was if you didn't get hit on the fall, just dead stick it!!

Some guys reported a good C-Rig bite on Red Shad 7" curly tails on main lake points with dock. But they said you had to weed through 5 to 10 small fish to get a keeper.

Main lake in the upper end by dam was in good shape, the lower end by I-85 was real muddy. Water temp dropped from last weekend from 85-83 to around 77-79 degrees.
