OK, so I got no fishing gear for Christmas. But my dad was doing business over at Singapore, where fishing is apparently big. They have a whole road of tackle shops (Beach Road... sounds like heaven eh?) And my fantastic father picked me up some stuff. Here are a few pics

Never heard of the slade before, but it looks spankin hot and is quite smooth despite the fact that it only has 2 bearings. A pretty nice reel.

They spooled it at the tackle shop there with this stuff... Never heard of this either. But it is pretty thin and strong. I will be using it for spring, just to see... If it works out, fine, if not I'll use it as backing for my beloved cajun redcast

anyone heard of that brand?
Then a jerkbait. I must say, it looks pretty good. Seems like a choice I would have made.

And god do I love my dad... who else would buy me fishing equipment while on a business trip in Singapore, of all places?
