Default Oiling and Fixing a Reel

Hi guys,

Now that I'm selling a reel(and rod) to my dad, I need to fix it up. It makes a funny higher pitched noise when I cast for the first second. I think it needs to be oiled. Some oil/grease came in a tiny little bottle when I got my Revo STX. Can I use this? Where should I oil it and how much. I really don't know the parts of the reels, so if you would be so kind as to show me a picture or explain, please do.
It's also makes a kind of grindy noise when I reel in.
The drag is the main problem. I once took it apart and I don't have the schematics for the reel. I think it's put together correctly though.
The drag can get soo loose that the drag star can spin freely. But when I tighten it, it's too tight. I can get it just perfect, but I won't settle for a reel that I have to futz with before it's set correctly.
Simple, it's either too loose or too tight. How can I fix this?

Thank a lot everyone,

Julien
