Well let's just say thing's are bad. The tourney was OK, had fun, met some new friends, drank way to much beer. Weighed in 5-6 pounds. The winners were somewhere around 40. Go figure, I guess when you guide the lake, you better know where to go. Anyways, from the Clewiston launch(Martins Marina) the water was registering 1.6 feet. Coots Bay-inaccessible, Monkey Box- same, West wall-same, East Wall-same, Rita Island-same. Places I was driving over last year- now 4 ft high dry land. Actually had one boat rip his lower end off in the channel. Did I mention things were shallow. If you could get past the entrance there were some dynamite holes holding water. I believe the winners went to airport hole?? Not sure where that is, but from what I was told it was not easy to get in. There were fish to catch if you could find them or had the boat and knowledge to travel the lake. Pulled out early the 2nd day, high winds, just plain getting beat up fighting the shallow water and high winds. Did lose some nice fish at the boat, also missed some nice ones in shallow water busting shiners. Did see one hit my trap that was probably a 7-8 pound fish- lost him on a bad hook set. Anyways, had fun, got to fish for 3 days, no work. Hopefully we will get some rain and lot's of it soon.
