Default potomac largemouth bass

yes i said potomac bass..
as a history buff i tend to read alot of old books that date prior to the 1900's..
in a book of transcripst from the "baltimore american" a dr james henshall states that prior to 1850 there was no large mouth black bass found native in the potomac river.
the largemouth bass was first brought from wheeling west virginia by four anglin enthusiasts who happened to be railroad engineeers..the quote is"engineers a.g. stabler,j.p. dukehart, forsythe and shriver brought several thousand large mouth black bass back from wheeling wv in a tanks they mounted on the tenders of their steam locomotives." dated 1854..

now i read it shook me head and read it again..i found in an in-fisherman book -go figure- that the native largemouth bass loctions were mostly on the missippi and great lakes drainages..

originally largemouth bass were only found native in 15 states and parts of 7 more they are:
sc,fl,ga,la,al,mi,ar,mo,iw,mn,tn,ky,in,oh,and michigan..parts of states: ny,tx,pa,wv,nb,ok,sd...

pretty intersting when you think about bass conservation aint it..
