Got out with a couple of buddies on Kent Lake in Oakland County on Sunday. It was raining slightly when we started at about 8:30 A.M. and we pulled up to a good hump in the old river channel. Nothing there so after about 30 minutes we went on to some stumps in about 10'. We fished there with jigs and drop shots and picked up a decent fish, but they were not jumping on our hooks. After a couple of hours pounding this spot we were about ready to leave and go to another lake when I suggested we go try "the humps" where there have been fish all year. We pulled up and started catching fish right away, after a few hours here we had probably caught 10-15 bass, with the largest going a little over 4. Finally the sun came out and the bite shut down so we moved around for several more hours picking up a few fish here and there, but nothing spectacular. Overall it was a good day, but when the weather changed it sure affected the fishing.
Here is one, not the biggest but a decent fish: ![]() I know exactly where we will all be running when our league fishing on Tuesday evening starts though since all three of us will be fishing against each other. ![]() |
