The end of the season classic for our Castaway's Series was this past weekend on the James/Chic River. It was a 2 day tourney for a change. Weather was a little tough the first day. Cool NE winds from 10-15 mph made it chilly. The tide was wierd. The water was real high and never really got low at low tide. We managed 8.71 the first day. Stayed in the Chic and caught 2 on a buzzbait, 2 on cranks, 1 on a spinnerbait, and 3 on Babybrushhogs. On day 2 we went out of the James. We stayed in the James and also fish the Appomattox. Our 5 went 9.25. We caught right many fish and right at the end caught a 2 3/4lber and culled out a 1 1/4. Most fish were caught on BBH's with a couple spinnerbait and crankbait fish mixed in. We ended up making a check with an 18th place finish (top 20 paid). First place had 30+ lbs. I'm happy we at least finished in the money for a change. This has been a tough season for my brother and I. We have one more tx on Oct. 10-11th. It's the FOM Regional and it's on the James River this year. Fishing should be getting good by then!!!
