Let me start off by saying that I am no fan of finesse fishing. But, I have figured out that I am even less a fan of getting skunked. So I went to a local tackle store with a finesse fishing agenda today.
I had told my wife that I planned on spending $40. Her reply was keep it under $50. I guess she knows me pretty well. But she didn't know that I had a $25 gift card to the store I was visiting. So in my mind, I had $75 to spend. I ended up with: Robo's 4 1/2" sexy shad 3" Prism shad 3" baby blue gill 4" fushia thunder Slug-go - 3" arkansas shiner Owner size 6 mosquito hooks. 1/8 ox tungsten drop shot weights While I should have stayed true to finesse, the monkey convinced me other wise. A pack of 9" western plastics in fire-purple-blue neon (I know just how bad that color sounds, but they are deadly in the rocks) 2 packs of owner-sled heads. (1/8 and 3/16) These have fast become my favorate hook for tubes and creature style baits. 1 pack of 1/2 oz tungsten flipping weights 1 pack of yamamoto 4 1/2" amber/green flipping tubes (I haven't thrown his the yamamoto tubes before. They are a little stiffer than the ones I usually use, but I am hoping that means more durable) Final cost, minus the gift card, was $47 and some change. The wife won't be mad at me now, so all is well.
