Default an ode too..

the billed boys of winter..

and since they just helped make a boat payment from a tourny win.i figured why not spot light dem again..

i almost never take pictures during a tourny. so here are a few from my archive that repesent the baits used/abused..

first off the speed trap: one of the very few out of the box baits with full fishability. weather you use the 1/8oz -shown- or the 1/4oz size both simply rule the cool water shallows.it is a bait of legendary status for good reason. no tuning, no adjusting, no replacing of hooks.it is tough as nails-i never broken one-

the second the wiggle wart: i infact use an jlv knock off called a fatty shad II-i should i helped design it-in deep cool water nothing catches fish like the slow wobble these baits produce..

proof lies in evidence that having the newest "great" bait don't mean jack...having a beat up old bait that proves it produces means money in the pocket...

though i can not take all the credit for the tourny win-my partner has been on them for two weeks-3 of the 5 fish weighed in at the wildcat tourny were mine.he had big fish 6.57 pounds. we caught 60ish bass and started to cull at 8:30am..i knew we were having a "good" day on highrock when i culled a 3.2 pound bass around 1pm..

for me it is not so much about the money as the return to tourny hammering..
