Weekly Lake Fork Fishing Report
Well, the weather is still ruling the fishing. The recent cold front did not turn into much. The water temp has remained in the low 80’s. The top water bite is still good. The fish have been fair to small with a good fish ever now and then. Lipless crank baits, spinner baits, Carolina and Texas rigs , wacky worms are all working early and off and on during the day. The Wave Tiki stick fished weightless around and over the grass has been very productive. The Lake Fork Tackle ZigZag and baby ring fries have been good in the above areas. The fish are schooling but not in great numbers. The lake is clear and down about 16 inches. After the sun gets up move out to deeper water and use Storm swim baits, Carolina and Texas Rigs, Jigging spoons and deep diving crank baits. Don’t over look the jig in this same area as a half ounce jig can get you a big bite in the creeks or on drop offs.
The crappie are back to running small again. The bigger fish will soon get under the bridges at 16 to 18 feet. I hope all will be careful this Labor Day Weekend. Don’t litter and keep all your trash in bags so it wont blow out of the boat. Jim Reaneau 1-888-918-5088 |
