Well Ryan called me up tonight and asked if I could fish. Told him ya and he said he was already at the res and had caught a 3-5 and a 3-14. I asked my mom and dad if they could give me a ride and they both said no. So Ryan came and got me and we went down to the spot where he'd caught his two bigguns. We fished for about a half hour to 45 mins without a bite. I started throwing a 5" Watermelon Purple Bass Pro Stik-O. No success for a while but thats my confidence bait so I kept throwing it. About 20 feet off the bank I let it fall in about 5' of water. It hit the bottom and I just let it stay there. I felt a really light "tick" and then I saw my line moving off VERY slowly. I picked up and it felt heavy so I set the hook HARD! My rod didn't move! I started reeling and she boiled on the surface! I was like Holy $hit! She kept draggin me down into the rocks and I kept trying to pull her back up. She came up to the side and Ryan tried to lip her and she kept shaking. So Ryan got her in a bear hug, lipped her, and then gave her to me. We got a weight and She went 4-4! PB by a pound! We got some pics and then safely released her. I ALMOST went Ike on that fish. First big fish of the year! I felt my line and it was frayed to hell. I think Zooker was with me on this one...
