Wonder what happened to him?

The bass in the first picture was sliced halfway around his body with the deepest part being in the belly. Propeller injury? I would expect it to be more of a chunk/bite rather than a slice if it was from another fish. There was no fight in him at all, he just allowed himself to be pulled in. Hungry though I guess.
The second picture is not very clear but look at how barely he was hooked.
It was a good morning on the water. Used a new to me 6' shakespeare rod that I bought at a thrift store for 6 dollars. That made my day. haha
