Strap down your gear on your boat!
Sadly it is something I know, but chose to ignore yesterday. On Monday I got my new Revo STX in the mail. I ended up pairing it on a Clarus 7'6" and spooling it with 15lbs seaguar. It WAS meant to be a new jig rig for me. On the water yesterday I was moving on plane when I hit a wave. It wasn't a big wave and I didn't hit it any harder than normal. I got to watch my combo bounce once and then disappear over the side. I then spent the next 2 hours dragging a swimbait on the bottom in 45' of water in hope of retrieving it with no luck. I probably wouldn't be as mad at myself if I hadn't set th erod on top of my straps when I went to move. So due to stupidity, I spent about $120 per hour to have a combo.
