I would agree with you there, I have also hunted for a number of years at Quivera, Marion, Cheney, and various other spots on private land. I have never seen one of these birds either. Maybe they don't frequent the Central Flyway? My buddy did however shoot an Egyptian Goose two years ago, the Rangers said that it had probably escaped a local zoo or something. It is a strange looking bird, but very beautiful also. If you want to see crossbred geese, you can visit the park that is next to the Sedgwick County Zoo. You will see ducks and geese that are so mixed up that you can no longer tell what they originated from.
