Having seen someone shot center of mass first hand (2 separate occasions) with duty rounds in 9mm, I have very little confidence in the round being a one or two shot stop round.
You are correct, the gun that the individual has confidence in, and shoots with total control is what they should carry. A 9mm is definitely better than nothing. While the recoil issue is not solved, the ability to carry a small auto weapon in .40 or .45 caliber is available. Kahr makes a very solid PM 40 or 45 that is plenty small enough to carry in just about any situation. I have carried my P40 covert model in shorts and a t-shirt with total concealment. |
