Default Camoing braid?

Got some tuff line at tacklewarehouse, and I don't really like how white it is (like a greenish white). I wanna take a couple different sharpie colors (2 dark Greens, and brown), and mark the line all the way through the spool to make it a kind of a camo color like that spiderwire. I think the idea is great!

But has anyone tried doing this, and what's the best method for doing so? And do they make braid markers that don't leach (would a sharpie?)?

Thanks!
