Default Braid line question

I have made the switch to braid line on my baitcast as I may be the best birdsnest creator in the world and it was pointed out on this forum that the braid line seems to minimize this. My one problem is that I seem to be getting slippage on the reel spool. I’ve re-spooled and retied 3 different times and I am still getting some slip when there is a moderate degree of torque required. I talked to an old fly fisherman thinking they may run into this problem and he stated that they join mono to their line that is tied to the reel.
I’m ging to try this but wanted to know if anyone else has a recommendation.
