I have the same problem with the fuel gauge on my Sprint. I've thought several times that I was just about empty, but when I went to the gas station, I could only put in 20-22 gallons in my 49 gallon tank. So I figure that one day I'll bring a 5 gallon jug along with me and run it till the tank is dry, and I'll know about how long that'll take....
