Welcome!! Even though you've been lurking in the background. Judging from the few posts and threads I've seen over the last few days, I think you will fit in just fine!! I get sidetracked and busy some times but always find my way back over here to hang out with the good guys on this forum.

There is one guy here that I'm not too sure about though. I hear he only catches dinks and he's a big Crimson Tide fan and, oh wait a minute. Nevermind. Dave |

This probably wouldn't have anything to do with it.
By the way, this was the very first BF.com Member Event, hosted on his home lake. Oh, and here's to compare his fish to some of the better ones caught that weekend. BB

Sometimes it's hard to tell how big a fish is in a picture. Like if someone is really tall, it would make any fish he holds look smaller. So if Bama is really really tall, like say 20 feet tall or so, then that would probably be a nice sized bass he's holding.

thanks dave. i try to be a good sport.
now as for having an event up there......... really now, YOU can host one yourself, that is what i am wanting. we have had memebers host them in their areas last year. may not be but 3 or 4 members, but they met up, fished and had a great time. plan on hosting one up there man. give ya something to do this winter. you don't have to have me host it for ya, YOU can do it. and please do, invite the wives, and kiddies too. make it a family event. cookout, camp, fish, and have a good time. this is what i intended for to happen all along. not just ONE event a year, several events across the country. GO FOR IT!

I've been meaning to spend more time with John, and Lisa. Two finer folks are hard to find. John is pretty much in middle of bassfishing heaven over there in Cedar Bluff. Within an hour in just about any direction of his house is a famous bass fishery (that still produces). Brother John has the fundamentals all he needs is some diversification to his methods and he would do just fine! I have spent a lifetime of bassfishing. I've never tried to go professional because of my sense of obligation to my family. It's really hard to give up a good salary and benefits to tackle such a competitive field. So I try to share what knowledge I've accumulated with folks that appreciate it. I also run a few low key tournament trails (be watching for the "Porko's Tournaments" Web site coming soon. When I mean low key, I have structured so that anybody can experience tournament fishing without being an expert or being wealthy, and enjoy it. My greatest thrill is seeing a young father bringing his little one to fish a tournament with him. Or Husband and wife just starting out with a little boat, and a lot of desire!
That is also what keeps me coming back to this site again and again. There are folks on here that fall perfectly into that category and similar categories. I am a moderator on one of the biggest fishing forums out there, and I can tell you this forum is a lot more peaceful, and far less antagonistic! If you think that I can be of any help, just fire away! I will do my best to help you.
