Rapala DT 10 and DT 16. Crawfish this time of the year, pearch later in the year. I also like a lavender shad DD22. A Norman Deep Little N has a place, too.

Rebel Crawdad! All sizes. Cheap, tough, seem to always run true outta da box, some amazing finishes.
I replace the hooks with one size larger in most cases and always replace the round split ring with an oval or pear-shaped one. About the ONLY crankbait that really looks like a crawfish. I spmetimes carefully add SuspendDots(TM) so I can "crawl" the lure on the bottom. I also carry and use a variety of others for when I want one that more resembles a baitfish. FR |

Thanks for the reminder. (Had to cut the tine of a treble hook off to keep Flyrod's knee from running off with one of my crankbaits-no hide, just material )

I don't know if I have a favorite but I like the Rapala's and Rebel lures. I bought some of the SPRO deep runners and am anxious to give them a try.

Thanks for the info fellas, I was checking all the different lures out on Basspro.com and While most of the Norman and Rebel lures ran bout 3-4 bucks the rapalas were up in the 7-8 dollar range. Do you think there is a noticable advantage that would make up for being almost twice as expensive with the rapala lures?

I think the Rapala's are excellent lures but only you can decide if they are worth the extra money. In my opinion, they have very good quality control and each new one I take out of the box runs true and has great action. Some of the cheaper baits need to be tuned first.
Of course, if you fish areas that you tend to lose a lot of baits I would not want to donate very many of them at the price they cost.

Waht you get when you purchase an "expensive" Rapala lure:
1.- Perfect design 2.- Durability 3.- Finish that will last for ages 4.- Factory tuned lure that may never need tunning again 5.- Top notch components And the fact that Rapala holds the most WRs fresh & saltwater than all the other manufacturers together. That in itself is a WR. My first 10 lb ---> Rapala Minnow My PB ---> Rapala Shad Rap The brand that catches the most fish and has caught the most fish for me ---> Rapala No wonder why 90% of all my over 600 cranks are Rapala. |

Uh, on my friend's camera phone, but i didn't bring a tape measurer with me. That was a sad thing, I kept thinking, it's too early to fish for bass right now, I don't need to bring a camera with me! Too bad I really did this time, I think I'm getting the hang of using lures, especially the shad rap and ratltrap. I don't really know how to upload from phone to computer....
